Friday Favorites! October 28th

Happy Friday! Boy, I am glad to have this week behind me!
Thanks to ErikaNarci and Andrea for the linkup opportunity!

Bear with me this week, the favorites are a little unusual.

Favorite #1

Bedtime...for the kids

We have had a rough week this week. So, I am keeping it real, and after the week with nonstop barky coughing, a head injury and two bloody noses, my favorite is bedtime! Mostly for the kids, but mine too!

Please don't misunderstand. I love my kids. I love spending time with my kids. I just also like to see my husband and have a conversation with him where someone doesn't interrupt. Or need a bandaid. Or juice. Or some other completely fictional problem just for the sake of interrupting and recapturing our attention.
I might also like to watch a TV show that isn't on Nick Jr. or Disney Junior. Don't get me wrong, those channels save my life/help dinner get on the table/get the laundry folded/get phone calls made on the regular, but I don't want to watch Peppa Pig all by myself. Although, I will say there are some new episodes of Max & Ruby, and I was shocked to see they have added parents to the mix now! Anyone else noticed that? Mind. Blown. It's about time those kids had some supervision.

Anyway, yay for bedtime!

Favorite #2

My Mom

That lovely woman saves my sanity. She is frequently helping out around here. Just yesterday, my son told me that Granny is better at helping with homework than me. She is really our only babysitter, so when we need/want to go out, it's Granny to the rescue! I really can't say enough about her. She has tons of patience for my kids, when my patience escapes me. She is always at the ready to help whenever I need her. I am so, so grateful to her that she lives close enough to help and loves to do it! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful mom and my kids are even luckier to get to call her Granny!

You ever have a semi online shopping spree one week, and the next week, you become best friends with your UPS guy or gal? That week was like that for me. So many of you other bloggers have had the cutest clothes! And there have been some good sales!

I got several packages this week! I think my favorite delivery was from J.Crew Factory. I scored some cute plaid shirts, a scarf and a puffer vest. My very favorite was the puffer vest! I have never had one before, I was always hesitant. They reminded me of the 80's or something. But they have grown on me and I decided to give it a shot in the bleached sand color! Love it!!

  1. I absolutely LOVE my puffer vest. I have 3 of them and wear them on repeat. That beached sand color is going to be so versatile that you'll be able to wear it with just about everything.

  3. LOVE that puffer vest! My UPS man used to be married to my cousin, lol. I see him waaaay more than my cousin, lol. So sorry you had a rough week, and relate to your feelings, sometimes just so happy when the house gets quiet at night, and mine are teens, lol. Have a great rest of your week.

Friday Favorites! October 14th

Happy Friday!  We are linking up with  Erika ,  Narci  &  Andrea  for the weekly installment of Friday Favorites! This week my very top favorite is ELECTRICITY! Where I live in Virginia, was affected by Hurricane Matthew. By the time he reached us, he was downgraded to a post-tropical storm or something, but still there was a lot of damage in our area, and people are still dealing with it. We were very lucky. We had no major damage to our home. We did, however, lose power for 40 hours. Yes, I counted!  We were absolutely one of the lucky ones, as we had prepared in advance! And several years ago, we had a generator installed, so we had power to the essentials, like the refrigerator and some lights and a few outlets. Very helpful in keeping all of our devices charged!! My next favorite is celebrating this guy's birthday with his school friends a few days early! We had a video game bus come and park in front of our house. Several of Will's friends came and

Ladies Who Link: August Edition: Back To School Prep

Hey everybody!!  Sorry for our absence on last month's linkup! I know all you dedicated readers, ok...reader (Hi Mom!) missed us terribly! Summer has been quite a bear around here. We have been traveling a lot and just existing with 3 kids and a puppy has been a long, exhausting challenge. All that said, I do love them all dearly and do my best to cherish our summer time together and making fun memories...amidst the screaming and fighting. Look for the good, right?? Now that I've gotten that out of the way... Thanks for coming by for our link up! And a special thank you to our other hosts:  Allie over at A Gal Named Al ,  Lisa at Coast to Coast ,  Tara at Mommy In A Nutshell  and  Holly over at Pink Lady !! Back to School Prep time! Obviously, I am quite excited that it is time to get THIS party started. I haven't actually had to do much back to school prep to share with you. We did do our usual Target run to get what we needed. My 8th grader needed some

Stranded! September 14: Movies

This month's Stranded Linkup hosted by Shay at Mix & Match Mama and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything is all about Movies!! I don't know about you, but this is a tough one! I love so many movies! I think these three I could watch over and over and over. I think that I have to go with my all-time favorite movie as a child for the first pick. 1st Pick Oh my gosh, you guys! I LOVED this movie SO much when I was little! Hayley Mills is my favorite! This version was the only one in existence when I was young, so I am biased and think this one is MUCH better than the Lindsay Lohan remake. 2nd Pick I mean, who doesn't love Will Ferrell and his crazy antics?! And in a holiday movie!?! We have watched this so many times during Christmastime and every other time of the year! My kids can quote many favorite lines! 3rd Pick I think this one needs to be a newer comedy that my husband and I have watched so many times. I LOVE Paul Rud
