Friday Favorites - November 4

It's time for our Friday linkup with Erika, Narci and Andrea!

T- One of my favorites from the past week was trick-or-treating with my girls.  My husband could not come because he had to work, so it was our first time venturing out without him on Halloween.  In our neighborhood, we have "Halloween street" where everyone goes all out with the Halloween spirit!  It is so much fun!  We did not have anything like that in my old neighborhood.
Here they are in front of the main "Halloween House" on the street.

One family had a cotton candy machine in their driveway and gave out fresh cotton candy!

T-Another event this week was my youngest daughter's theater showcase.  They worked on a musical production of The Nutcracker.  It may be early to watch a Christmas show, but it was an awesome show!  I love watching my girls being braver than I ever could have been at their age.  My daughter knew all of her lines and sang her heart out.  The artistic director told me she is quite a little actress. Proud mom moment!

T- Another favorite from this week is one of my guilty pleasures...donuts!  A parent at my school brought donuts to school from my absolute favorite place to have donuts...Duck Donuts!  They melt in your mouth.  After a crazy week of teaching in the days following Halloween, donuts were just what I needed! They have several locations.  Check out the link above to see if there is a store near you.  You will not be disappointed!

T- This is going to receive some mixed reactions, but I was excited for the return of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel!  I love to sit in my bed and do school work while listening to one of the movies.  Yes, many of the movies are a bit cheesy, but they are generally cute stories that have a happy ending.  They are also movies that you can watch with children around and not have to worry that they will see something inappropriate.  Check out this link to learn more: http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/christmas

S- As mentioned yesterday, one of my favorites this week was our experiences with Rockie, Elliot's class dog. ICYMI here are a few of those pictures. Just so, darn cute.

My 2nd Favorite was Halloween!

First up, pumpkin carving/decorating!

Costumes!

Will wore this costume for school. Then he lost the battery pack for the fan that inflated the dinosaur, so for trick or treating, he went as Harry Potter!

Some fun Decorations on our route!

Favorite #3
I agree with Trina! Anything Christmas, but especially Hallmark Movies! And Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks!

Tis the season! Already! It is exciting and terrifying all at the same time! I love the decorations and activities, but the pressure of getting everyone the perfect gift without spending your life's savings! Scary! Ha!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Memorial Day!

Grab a cup of coffee and get comfy! Here is mine below! I felt like I needed my coffee to take the preparation for this project on! On Saturday, my family and I had over 3 other families for a pool party and cookout. Here are some of the things we did! My homemade cold brew iced coffee! On Friday, I ran errands collecting supplies for the party. I came across these cute paper platters at Target! They were great for holding the hamburgers, hot dogs and buns. I also picked up some bubbles for the little kids, some juice boxes and water bottles, and of course, some pool floats and noodles, it was a pool party after all! Is there anything Target doesn't have?! Here are a few of the decorations I put up just to make it a bit more festive. These would be great for a 4th of July or Labor Day party too! Paper banner Luminaries with battery operated candles on my island with some M&Ms Patriotic wreath on the bathroom door Now, on to the adult fun stuff! W...

Stranded! September 14: Movies

This month's Stranded Linkup hosted by Shay at Mix & Match Mama and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything is all about Movies!! I don't know about you, but this is a tough one! I love so many movies! I think these three I could watch over and over and over. I think that I have to go with my all-time favorite movie as a child for the first pick. 1st Pick Oh my gosh, you guys! I LOVED this movie SO much when I was little! Hayley Mills is my favorite! This version was the only one in existence when I was young, so I am biased and think this one is MUCH better than the Lindsay Lohan remake. 2nd Pick I mean, who doesn't love Will Ferrell and his crazy antics?! And in a holiday movie!?! We have watched this so many times during Christmastime and every other time of the year! My kids can quote many favorite lines! 3rd Pick I think this one needs to be a newer comedy that my husband and I have watched so many times. I LOVE Paul Rud...
