What's Up Wednesday {12/21}

I can't believe this is the last What's Up Wednesday of the year!

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...

OK...this needs to be my New Year's resolution. I need to meal plan better. I have no idea what we are eating tonight, much less this week. The only thing I have come close to planning is Christmas Eve dinner. This year, we are going all out with Beef Tenderloin. My brother was the master at making it, so last year I made it mostly for my niece and nephew, but we all loved it!

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...

Last week was Elliot's last week of half day Pre-K. When we return from Winter Break, she will be a Full Day Pre-Ker. So, I am excited and a little sad that we won't be spending a couple of hours in the afternoons together everyday. It was nice to have that one on one time that is so elusive with 3 kids. It will be good for her to be with her friends, and for me to get more done!
This is a pic of our last half day pickup. I'm not crying! YOU'RE crying! ;)

WHAT I'M LOVING...

I am loving the Christmas season. I, for the first time in the history of my existence, am ready for Christmas early this year. I made a decision early on to do what I could so that I could actually enjoy the week before Christmas instead of stressing out. So, I stressed out the 3 weeks BEFORE. Ha!

And I love having my kids home with me. Well...most of the time, anyway. My nephew arrived the other day and my niece comes home later today! Exciting!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...

The aforementioned Christmas stressing. Yesterday, we did ALL of our holiday baking and delivery. It was kind of a long day, but delivering the treats to neighbors and close local friends makes it all worth it. (Please ignore the disarray in the background and Elliot dressed herself in case you were wondering!)

In the baskets were shortbread cookies,

my favorite cookies of all time...Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

what I call "Buttons" or "Holiday Buttons"

and Peppermint Fudge.

WHAT I'M DREADING...

Putting all the Christmas stuff away!

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...

Recommitting myself in the new year, to decluttering and cleaning out in preparation for our move next year. Can I add that to the dreading list too??

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT...

Next month, Eddie and I are attending the International Builders' Show in Orlando. I understand why they call it that, but the acronym is IBS. I can't help but snicker a bit in my head every time I see it. I have lived with boys for a long time. Anyway...Eddie and I get to get away for a few days! Even though it is a business trip, we always have a good time.

WHAT I'M WATCHING/ READING...

Why, Christmas movies, of course! And Christmas books! Check out my favorite Christmas movies here and my latest Christmas book selections here.

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO...

Christmas music!! And the sounds of my children laughing. And fighting. Incessantly. You know where the "playing" starts out as laughing...and ends in someone fighting and/or crying? That happens about 6,734 times a day. 'Tis the season!

WHAT I'M WEARING...
My uniform...jeans, boots and a comfy top...perhaps with a Starbucks in my hand.

And of course...a Santa Hat!

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND...
Let's see...hmm...oh yeah...celebrating Christmas!!

WHAT I'M LOOKIN FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH...
IBS! Ha! But seriously, it should be fun.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW...
We went to go see Elf in lieu of an office Christmas party with these awesome people! Love them!!

BONUS QUESTION THIS MONTH: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM 2016?
I think my favorite memory was going to the Zac Brown Band concert over Labor Day weekend! We had such a good time with such great friends!! It was SO much fun!!

Merry Christmas!!

Friday Favorites! October 14th

Happy Friday!  We are linking up with  Erika ,  Narci  &  Andrea  for the weekly installment of Friday Favorites! This week my very top favorite is ELECTRICITY! Where I live in Virginia, was affected by Hurricane Matthew. By the time he reached us, he was downgraded to a post-tropical storm or something, but still there was a lot of damage in our area, and people are still dealing with it. We were very lucky. We had no major damage to our home. We did, however, lose power for 40 hours. Yes, I counted!  We were absolutely one of the lucky ones, as we had prepared in advance! And several years ago, we had a generator installed, so we had power to the essentials, like the refrigerator and some lights and a few outlets. Very helpful in keeping all of our devices charged!! My next favorite is celebrating this guy's birthday with his school friends a few days early! We had a video game bus come and park in front of our house. Several of Will's friends came and

Ladies Who Link: August Edition: Back To School Prep

Hey everybody!!  Sorry for our absence on last month's linkup! I know all you dedicated readers, ok...reader (Hi Mom!) missed us terribly! Summer has been quite a bear around here. We have been traveling a lot and just existing with 3 kids and a puppy has been a long, exhausting challenge. All that said, I do love them all dearly and do my best to cherish our summer time together and making fun memories...amidst the screaming and fighting. Look for the good, right?? Now that I've gotten that out of the way... Thanks for coming by for our link up! And a special thank you to our other hosts:  Allie over at A Gal Named Al ,  Lisa at Coast to Coast ,  Tara at Mommy In A Nutshell  and  Holly over at Pink Lady !! Back to School Prep time! Obviously, I am quite excited that it is time to get THIS party started. I haven't actually had to do much back to school prep to share with you. We did do our usual Target run to get what we needed. My 8th grader needed some

Stranded! September 14: Movies

This month's Stranded Linkup hosted by Shay at Mix & Match Mama and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything is all about Movies!! I don't know about you, but this is a tough one! I love so many movies! I think these three I could watch over and over and over. I think that I have to go with my all-time favorite movie as a child for the first pick. 1st Pick Oh my gosh, you guys! I LOVED this movie SO much when I was little! Hayley Mills is my favorite! This version was the only one in existence when I was young, so I am biased and think this one is MUCH better than the Lindsay Lohan remake. 2nd Pick I mean, who doesn't love Will Ferrell and his crazy antics?! And in a holiday movie!?! We have watched this so many times during Christmastime and every other time of the year! My kids can quote many favorite lines! 3rd Pick I think this one needs to be a newer comedy that my husband and I have watched so many times. I LOVE Paul Rud
