What's Up Wednesday {1/25}








WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK... 

I actually meal planned this week! We are having Chicken Caesar salads, Linguine with Tomato Cream Sauce and Meatballs, Pioneer Woman's Simple, Perfect Chili, and also her Ginger Steak Salad. What are you eating?

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT... 
Today is my Dad's birthday. He would have been 71 today. I miss him so so much. I am trying to remember the good times today.

WHAT I'M LOVING... 
That we have already had snow once this year! Here in Virginia, we get snow, but not a lot. Especially in my area. So, things shut down and you actually get a snow day when even just a little snow falls. I am hoping for another good snow before snow season is over! I know, random, right?

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO... 
We've been crazy busy! Eddie and I went to the International Builders' Show in Orlando earlier this month (if you'd like to read more about that click here and here). Elliot started Full Day school (yippee!!!) after Christmas Break and after they went back from being sick and the snow, I am enjoying a little extra time to get things done! I am running errands, and catching up on things that have been put off.


WHAT I'M DREADING... 
I think I say this every month...cleaning up my house. As I have also said before, we are moving (hopefully) this year and I need to start purging and organizing now. It's such a bug undertaking, I dread it. Once I get into it, I know I will be happy I did.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON... 
Blogging more and more consistently. Again, with the house cleaning. Being more organized. Meal planning more. You know...typical SAHM stuff.

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT... 
Have I mentioned we're building a house? I love to go several times a week to check on the progress. It's so exciting to watch something we designed on a computer screen (with a professional) come to life in real life. Today, was a perfect day to lounge by the pool there...Ha!


WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING... 

I am watching the new PBS show, Victoria! I love it! If you haven't seen it...you must check it out. Especially if you were a fan of Downton Abbey! And you aren't too far behind! Only 2 episodes have aired.



WHAT I'M WEARING... 
My uniform! Jeans, boots, tee, scarf!

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND... 

Going to attend a school function. Every year they have a Grand Auction and it is themed. This year's theme is Mardi Gras! These are my selections. I don't know if I will be brave enough to do the eye makeup. We shall see!

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH... 

Super Bowl! Even though my beloved Packers didn't make it. SO close, until the last game. We love the Super Bowl around here no matter who is playing!

AND Trina and I get to meet up later in the month! I always look forward to our rare occasions to see each other. I miss her so much!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW...
I think that covers it! Hope you are having a great start to the new year!

Friday Favorites! October 14th

Happy Friday!  We are linking up with  Erika ,  Narci  &  Andrea  for the weekly installment of Friday Favorites! This week my very top favorite is ELECTRICITY! Where I live in Virginia, was affected by Hurricane Matthew. By the time he reached us, he was downgraded to a post-tropical storm or something, but still there was a lot of damage in our area, and people are still dealing with it. We were very lucky. We had no major damage to our home. We did, however, lose power for 40 hours. Yes, I counted!  We were absolutely one of the lucky ones, as we had prepared in advance! And several years ago, we had a generator installed, so we had power to the essentials, like the refrigerator and some lights and a few outlets. Very helpful in keeping all of our devices charged!! My next favorite is celebrating this guy's birthday with his school friends a few days early! We had a video game bus come and park in front of our house. Several of Will's friends came and

Stranded! September 14: Movies

This month's Stranded Linkup hosted by Shay at Mix & Match Mama and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything is all about Movies!! I don't know about you, but this is a tough one! I love so many movies! I think these three I could watch over and over and over. I think that I have to go with my all-time favorite movie as a child for the first pick. 1st Pick Oh my gosh, you guys! I LOVED this movie SO much when I was little! Hayley Mills is my favorite! This version was the only one in existence when I was young, so I am biased and think this one is MUCH better than the Lindsay Lohan remake. 2nd Pick I mean, who doesn't love Will Ferrell and his crazy antics?! And in a holiday movie!?! We have watched this so many times during Christmastime and every other time of the year! My kids can quote many favorite lines! 3rd Pick I think this one needs to be a newer comedy that my husband and I have watched so many times. I LOVE Paul Rud

Ladies Who Link: August Edition: Back To School Prep

Hey everybody!!  Sorry for our absence on last month's linkup! I know all you dedicated readers, ok...reader (Hi Mom!) missed us terribly! Summer has been quite a bear around here. We have been traveling a lot and just existing with 3 kids and a puppy has been a long, exhausting challenge. All that said, I do love them all dearly and do my best to cherish our summer time together and making fun memories...amidst the screaming and fighting. Look for the good, right??
